Youth Leadership Support Network (YLSN) is a Washington, D.C.–based network dedicated to violence prevention, arts, education, media, and training. Its mission is to empower young people to express themselves and amplify their voices in society through intergenerational, diverse leadership opportunities and civic engagement. Through individual skill-building and small group projects, YLSN provides youth with opportunities to develop as community organizers within the broader context of global networking and historic youth-driven social change.

YLSN connects young people and youth leadership programs with educators, artists, and mentors—within local neighborhoods, across the nation, and around the world. Drawing on the legacy of contemporary youth and student movements for community service, peace and justice, and human rights, YLSN bridges the past with the present.

Since its founding in 1998, YLSN has worked with more than twenty thousand youth, partnered with hundreds of musicians and artists, collaborated with dozens of media mentors, and built relationships with sister organizations locally and globally.
